The Israel-Gaza conflict has consumed the attention of President Joe Biden as the United States is pursuing a ceasefire deal to de-escalate the violence. Biden has offered his support to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has expressed his strong condemnation of Hamas’s rocket attacks on Israeli cities. He has also consistently emphasized the need for a two-state solution, saying that he favors a “realistic” deal that would achieve a long-term peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Biden and his administration have been working with regional allies in order to secure a ceasefire. Notably, the administration has been coordinating with the United Nations, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar in their efforts. In addition, Biden has agreed to an $86 million emergency arms sale package to Israel in order to aid in their defensive efforts. It is clear that the President and his team are dedicated towards ending the violence as soon as possible.
