One such claim he has made is that he traveled 17,000 miles with China’s President Xi Jinping while he was vice president. The total mileage of Biden’s trips to and from China as VP, in addition to the travel he and Xi did within China during an official visit, is about half of the 17,000 miles Biden boasted about – roughly 8,000 miles. But there’s not enough public evidence available to support the idea that he spent that much time traveling directly with Xi. The President has repeated this claim several times in different circumstances, despite it being fact-checked and proven false. It appears to be a part of his rhetorical style. Perhaps he uses it to emphasize his experience and personal relationship with Xi, but regardless of his intention, the claim is misleading.
