President Donald Trump has been expressing dissatisfaction towards his re-election campaign, even as his advisers have been trying to steer their strategy towards attacking Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Trump’s campaign has been trailing in national and battleground state polls to the Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden. However, the president seems to be focused on complaining about his own campaign’s operations rather than focusing on the bid to win the election. His advisers have advocated attacking Harris, Biden’s Vice Presidential pick, in an attempt to sway voters in their favor, but this approach has not clicked with Trump.
This divergence in strategy has caused tension within the campaign. Trump’s advisers believe that an aggressive strategy against Harris could possibly turn the tide in their favor, while Trump seems to want to criticize his own campaign’s strategy instead.
While it’s not entirely uncommon for there to be differing opinions within a campaign, this particular divergence comes at an integral time with the election just around the corner. The lack of a unified strategy could pose potential issues down the line for the Trump campaign.
