Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) advocated for a “massive retaliation” against Iran to deter them from targeting U.S. assets in the Middle East. He suggested that U.S. military action could include “air strikes and cyberattacks, as well as special operations forces and covert action.” Cotton also suggested that the United States should increase diplomatic and economic pressure on Iran and its allies. The senator warned against a prolonged conflict, saying that the United States should act quickly and decisively to make sure Iran understands that any additional attacks will be met with force.
