Once the jury has deliberated, they will render a verdict on the case. This verdict will either be a guilty or a not guilty verdict. After the verdict is rendered, the judge will move forward to sentencing. If the defendant is found guilty the judge will decide the appropriate sentence. If the defendant is found not guilty, the judge will dismiss the case and the defendant will be free to go.
