Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday urged stricter border security to be included in President Joe Biden’s budget request, along with stronger support for Israel and Ukraine.
McConnell said he wanted to see “greater commitment to addressing the security crisis at our southwestern border” in Biden’s budget. He also called for an “expanded commitment” to the fight against Russian aggression, noting in particular the need for “unprecedented diplomatic and military investments” in Ukraine.
The Republican leader further said that Biden’s budget should include “robust” funds to ensure Israel remains safe and secure with access to advanced technologies. He concluded, “There is no shortage of challenges we must take on to build a more prosperous and secure future.”
