Israeli-born Republican state Senator Ana Maria Rodriguez of Miami-Dade has broken away from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and endorsed President Donald Trump’s reelection.
Rodriguez said in a statement that she strongly supported Trump’s policies, including strong Israel and Latin American relations, relocating the US embassy to Jerusalem, and doing what is necessary to tackle the issues of border security and illegal immigration. She also noted that Trump has been “unparalleled in his support for the Jewish people and rejection of anti-Semitism.”
Despite her endorsement of Trump, Rodriguez said that she still has “utmost respect for Governor DeSantis” and “values his leadership.” She assured her constituents that she would continue to “work with the Governor and other officials to move our state and the region forward, as I have always done.”
