John Fetterman recently attacked the journalist who initially defended him in his racial profiling incident. In the incident, Fetterman, lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, was stopped by police who had been sent to locate a 6’8” black man wearing a hoodie. Fetterman is 6’8” and was indeed wearing a hoodie, but he is biracial. In his defense, journalist Stephen Caruso wrote for the publication Keystone Politics that the stop was more than likely due to racial profiling, but that Fetterman had handled it with professionalism.
Fetterman, however, was not pleased with Caruso’s article and began attacking him on social media, accusing him of downplaying the severity of the incident. Fetterman’s response to the journalist stunned many, as he had originally thanked Caruso for his defense and support. The response left many baffled, as they do not understand why Fetterman has now changed his stance on the issue.
